Kestelman explains how important NBL/Channel Nine TV deal is

2018-08-17T07:03+10:00

NBL boss Larry Kestelman believes the new free-to-air TV deal with Channel Nine is one of the final pieces to the puzzle for basketball in Australia.

It was announced today Nine will broadcast two games per round on 9GO!, along with the existing deal with Fox Sports.

“It’s almost the last missing piece in the puzzle for what we needed to be, at least, what I think is the starting point for the ultimate success in this sport,” Kestelman told SEN Breakfast.

“You need to have a big media partner like Channel Nine because it is not just about those two games, it’s about everything else that a media company can do for you across all programs, digital, it just spreads like wildfire.

“I couldn’t be happier.”

The NBL’s agreement with Nine will last for three-years, and is a revenue sharing arrangement.
