Freo loss "worst performance in club history"

2018-08-20T12:17+10:00

Former West Coast player Scott Cummings has labelled Fremantle’s loss on Saturday afternoon as the club’s worst ever performance.

The Dockers have been held to lower scores and had their fair share of big losses, but Cummings said the 133-point loss to the Cats was beyond anything the club has suffered.

“That was the worst performance and result in the club’s history,” Cummings told Footy WA.

“If they don’t do something this year, their club is a laughing stock. It’s time for the Fremantle hierarchy to put their pills on the line and say we need to stand for more than this.”

Fremantle led the game at quarter time by nine points before conceding 23 goals in a row.

Former St Kilda coach Scott Watters criticised the tactical decisions made by Ross Lyon and his coaching staff.

“They cannot hit the scoreboard offensively. This needs to change or they will not progress,” Watters said.

“This is five years into a rebuild, not two. Structurally, this is inept.

“This was a diabolical drubbing.”

Watters broke down individual plays and what went wrong and you can see that below.
