Adelaide players still receiving counselling from pre-season camp: McClure

2018-08-27T11:56+10:00

SEN Time On host Sam McClure says some Adelaide players are still receiving counselling due to the failed pre-season camp.

Collective Mind, the company that ran the camp, held a press conference today with directors Derek Leddie and Amon Woulfe, to help clear the air on what occurred at the controversial sessions.

However, according to McClure, the whole situation became more clouded.

“I learned that no one is really willing to take responsibility for what happened on that camp,” he told SEN’s Whateley.

“The relationship between Adelaide and Collective Mind was severed.

“Amon and Derek were both adamant in this morning’s press conference that it was severed because of external media speculation and only that.

“When, in fact, the club actually held a press conference to state the camp was a failure.

“That was a little confusing. I did learn they did have a situation which has sort of been reported in dribs and drabs about the Indigenous talking stick that was used during the camp.

“It was deemed inappropriate by one of the players in the circumstances and they said that situation was cleared up in 72 hours.

“They said, right at the end of the press conference, with all the knowledge they have now, they would do everything again, which is staggering because it has clearly backfired.

“You’ve got players that went to the president, Eddie Betts and Sam Jacobs to voice their concern.

“You still got a handful of players, that are still to this day, receiving counselling for what happened on that camp.”
