Carlton just about has McGovern deal done

2018-08-29T08:49+10:00

The Herald Sun’s Sam Edmund says “everything you hear” about Mitch McGovern’s future points to Carlton.

McGovern officially requested a trade from Adelaide last night, confirming a report from SEN Time On host Sam McClure.

McGovern’s new home appears to be Ikon Park, and with the Blues holding the number one pick, the coveted selection could be used in negotiations.

“Everything you hear is Carlton, to the point where Carlton have got it done just about,” Edmund told SEN Breakfast.

“That’s the jungle drums really loud that Carlton have stitched him up.

SEN Breakfast with Garry Lyon and Tim Watson can be heard Monday-Friday 6-9am, and you can subscribe to the podcast here.

“The touted number one pick is Jack Lukosius, he is a South Australian kid, you have to think the Crows would love to get their hands on him. How do they do that?

“Carlton have the number one pick, so there is going to be all sorts of things coming and going around Adelaide’s pick seven maybe coming back the other way, obviously McGovern is involved.”

McGovern played 12 games this season, booting 15 goals.
