Leading player agent Liam Pickering has played down suggestions that one of his clients is a key target for North Melbourne.
Former Gold Coast player Campbell Brown has suggested that the Kangaroos are set to offer current Suns midfielder and his ex-teammate Aaron Hall a princely sum to move to Arden Street.
On Channel 7’s Talking Footy last night, Brown said of Hall: “The figure that’s being bandied around is 650 grand a year.
“To the Kangaroos.”
Host of SEN’s Time On and co-host of Talking Footy, Sam McClure, said: “So North Melbourne are going to pay Aaron Hall 650 grand a year?”
To which Brown replied: “Allegedly.”
In response, Pickering chose not to give the speculation surrounding his client too much attention.
“Yeah, you keep allegations where they started,” he said on SEN Breakfast.
“That’s not true.
“If people are throwing around numbers like this, that’s ok.”
He added: “People throw around silly numbers this time of year.”
It was reported in May that Hall, 27, was weighing up his future on the Gold Coast as he prepares to come out of contract at the end of the 2018 season.
The Hobart native was dropped by Stuart Dew earlier in the year before suffering a pectoral injury in Round 11 which forced him to the sidelines for the remainder of the campaign.
North Melbourne are evidently on the lookout for an outside running player this trade period having been heavily linked with Port Adelaide’s Jared Polec and West Coast’s Andrew Gaff in recent weeks.
Hall, who has played 103 AFL games, fits that bill and could quite possibly become an option for the Roos if he does opt to leave the Suns.
