“It was a Richmond style game”: Lambert

2018-09-07T06:39+10:00

Richmond star Kane Lambert says the Tigers felt like the 31-point Qualifying Final win over Hawthorn was played on their terms.

The Tigers upped their intensity and blew the Hawks away in an irresistible third quarter, recording five goals to two, helping Damien Hardwick’s men book their ticket to the Preliminary Final.

“We felt like it was a Richmond style game,” Lambert told SEN.

“We thought we kept the ball in our front half pretty well and were able to apply a lot of pressure and deny the uncontested marks.

“I’m not too sure on the statistics but it felt like a Richmond style game out there.”

Lambert, who was playing his first game since Round 21 after nursing an ankle injury, says his recovery over the next fortnight won’t be an issue leading into the Preliminary Final.

“I’m a bit sore generally in my body but the ankle’s good, so no complaints from my end,” he said.

“It’s going to be plenty of icing and plenty of time on the physio table. I’m happy and content with where it is at

“I think I’ll spend half my wage on ice, I’ll be going down the servo and getting bags of ice.

“We have a fantastic medical staff, I put my trust in them, did everything they told me, and I’m feeling good.”
