Richmond a tougher assignment than West Coast in Perth: Dal Santo

2018-09-10T15:25+10:00

Three-time All-Australian Nick Dal Santo says he would prefer to travel to Perth and play West Coast in a Preliminary Final than play Richmond at the MCG.

The Eagles will play either Hawthorn or Melbourne in a home Preliminary Final at Optus Stadium, while the Tigers will host either GWS or Collingwood.

After watching West Coast’s winning performance on Saturday night against the Pies, Dal Santo believes the Dees or the Hawks shouldn’t fear the prospect of travelling to Perth to face Adam Simpson’s side in front of their partisan crowd.

“That last quarter when the two big boys up forward started imposing themselves, that would worry me a little bit,” Dal Santo told SEN Afternoons.

“But I’d probably prefer to go to Perth and play West Coast in a Preliminary Final rather than stay in Melbourne and play the Tigers here.

“I reckon the Dees, if they win against the Hawks, would back themselves in and I think Hawthorn would too.”

West Coast have won 10 of their 13 games at Optus Stadium this season, while Richmond has won 22 straight games at the MCG.
