2018-09-13T14:59+10:00

Melbourne defender Oscar McDonald has re-signed with the club.

The new deal will tie McDonald to the Demons until the end of 2020.

Melbourne GM of football operations Josh Mahoney says he has been encouraged by the development of the improving 22-year-old.

“Oscar is a young developing defender who has taken on a lot of responsibility within our defence,” Mahoney told melbournefc.com.

“He has built strong understanding with his fellow defenders and we look forward to him continuing to develop in his role.”

McDonald has played all 23 matches so far this season, cementing his spot in the Dees’ backline.

Taken at pick 53 in the 2014 National Draft, McDonald has played 60 games in the red and blue.
