GWS should put Patton on trade table: Frawley

2018-09-17T14:20+10:00

Danny Frawley says GWS needs to think about putting 2011 number one draft pick Jon Patton on the trade table.

Patton played 12 games this season, before tearing his ACL for the third time in early July, and Frawley thinks the 25-year-old may be squeezed out.

“I would, and I think Jon Patton is a very good player, but I would put him right now on the trade table,” Frawley told SEN Afternoons.

“I think the game, the way it is played, they probably (prefer) young Harry Himmelberg and they get a ruckman, so that puts Rory Lobb back, I think they can afford to put Patton on the trade table and relieve some salary cap.

“I’m sure there’s a club out there would like him, but three knees at a young age and a big man, it’s going to take some convincing.

“I would definitely ask the question.”

Patton has kicked 130 goals in 89 games across his career.
