Buckley rules Moore out of Preliminary Final

2018-09-19T12:23+10:00

Darcy Moore won’t play in Friday night’s Preliminary Final, Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has confirmed.

“Darcy is not fit to play and just hasn’t been able to put enough of a block of training or work or match play together to be passed fit to go,” Buckley said.

“He has looked good in patches, he trained pretty well last week. Talking to him, he went up another notch today but if we just look at the loads that he has done or not been able to do over the last month, it’s too much of a risk to take.

“Neither he or we are confident that he can get through the whole game.

“We don’t have the work underneath him to know that we can make that call, as we did with Tyson Goldsack, Adam Treloar and Jeremy Howe a couple of weeks ago.

“He has had a good session today, he will have another session on Friday and he will continue to prepare to play a role if one comes available for the rest of our campaign.”

Moore hasn’t played since Round 20, and has appeared in just seven games this year.
