How Majak Daw cemented a spot at North Melbourne

2018-09-19T16:41+10:00

North Melbourne defender Majak Daw says his positional switch allowed him to enjoy his football more than ever before.

Daw, who previously struggled to find his niche, excelled in defence for the Kangaroos by displaying his aerial prowess and ability to intercept.

“As a club we were disappointed that we didn’t make the most of our opportunities,” Daw told SEN Afternoons.

“For me personally, I took some strides this year.

“Playing as a defender, I really improved and I enjoyed my footy.

“I had really good teammates that really backed me in like Scott Thompson and Robbie Tarrant, they were really good in getting me back to playing good footy.

“Being at the club for a long time I couldn’t really cement a spot.

“Being a defender, I think that really suits the way I play by being able to run, jump and intercept.”

The 27-year-old played 18 games this season, becoming a permanent fixture for the Roos down back as they narrowly missed out on a finals spot.
