Kevin Bartlett believes in-demand Gold Coast defender Steven May would be an All-Australian if he joined a better club
Reports emerged last week that May will request a trade from the Suns to a Victorian club, with Herald Sun journalist Sam Edmund reporting on SEN Breakfast this morning that Collingwood is looming as the likely destination.
Richmond great Bartlett is a big fan of the 26-year-old and says he would be a superb addition for the Magpies.

“That would be a fantastic get for the Pies,” Bartlett told SEN’s KB and The Doc.
“I reckon Steven May at a good club is an All-Australian.
“I think Steven May is an outstanding fullback, an outstanding key defender and if he goes to a good club – and Collingwood’s a Preliminary Final club – there’s a very good chance that Steven May could be an All-Australian.
“It’s been very tough for him at the Gold Coast Suns when he’s been fit and playing well, but he’s been under so much pressure down there virtually as their key defender.”
May is contracted to the Suns for another season but a move back to Victoria looks inevitable.
