Money not a factor as Gaff continues to weigh up future

2018-09-19T11:35+10:00

Andrew Gaff’s decision to either stay at West Coast or return to Victoria won’t be motivated by money, according to his manager Paul Connors.

Gaff’s future has been the subject of intense speculation throughout this season, with North Melbourne reportedly tabling a seven-year, multi-million dollar deal to lure the Eagles star to Arden Street.

With West Coast playing in a Preliminary Final this weekend, Connors says the 26-year-old is still weighing up his future.

“I won’t confirm any of it (North Melbourne’s reported offer), but I will say that money’s got no factor,” Connors said at the NAB AFL Trade Radio launch.

“West Coast are a great club, Gaffy’s had the perfect storm in a way and he’s gone through the worst month of his life.

“We know what happened on the field and as reported, his father has been in hospital for a month and he’s on his way to recovery, which is wonderful news for his dad.

“He’s only been back in Peth for 10 days and he’s totally immersed in their football program.

“If anyone knows Andrew he takes his time to think about things and right now he’s totally focused on helping his team.

“He hasn’t made his mind up.”

Gaff is currently serving an eight-week suspension for punching Fremantle youngster Andrew Brayshaw in Round 20’s Western Derby.
