North Melbourne have emerged as a reported suitor for out-of-contract Sydney defender Nic Newman.
According to AFL.com.au, the Swan met with the Kangaroos today as he ponders his next move.
Newman, 25, played 11 games this year, including the last eight consecutively.

Teammates Dan Hannebery and Gary Rohan notified the Swans of their desire to be traded, and Newman could follow suit.
