Brownlow Medal favourite Tom Mitchell says he hopes Carlton’s Patrick Cripps is able to take home the coveted medal tonight.
Ball magnet Mitchell is likely to become Hawthorn’s first Brownlow Medallist since Sam Mitchell in 2012, but says he would love to see Cripps win.
“I’m not too nervous, more excited I think, I’m just happy to be here again,” Mitchell told SEN’s Brownlow Medal coverage.
“There have been so many guys who have had dominant seasons, I think Patty Cripps is one who stands out for me.
“I think he is going to do really well tonight and he deserves to.”
