Melbourne great Garry Lyon believes it isn’t his former club driving the trade rumours behind Jesse Hogan.
Multiple reports surfaced yesterday that Hogan is open to moving back to Western Australia, with Fremantle heavily interested in him.
However, Lyon says the Demons aren’t overly keen to let go of the 23-year-old.
“My understanding is they won’t do it…this is all at the feet of Jesse,” Lyon told SEN Breakfast.
“That’s what I’m hearing. I think (if Hogan asked for a trade) that would be a different story.
“I’m giving you the Melbourne view, they’re saying he loves Melbourne, he doesn’t want to go anywhere. That’s the three week ago view (from Simon Goodwin’s interview on Fox Footy).
“If Jesse comes in and says, I don’t love Melbourne anymore, and I do want to go somewhere, well that changes things.”
Hogan is out of contract at the end of the 2019 season.
