Report: Carlton club legend being considered for senior role

2018-09-27T07:34+10:00

Channel Seven journalist Tom Browne reports Carlton could be set to add club legend Robert Walls to their football department.

“Two club powerbrokers are pushing to have a surprise person involved in the club next season – Robert Walls,” Browne told Channel Seven.

“The proposed role, observe all facets of the footy department and assist where necessary.

“I understand Walls has spoken with Brendon Bolton and new footy boss Brad Lloyd and Bolton’s considering the offer.

“Walls is prepared to do it, Bolton is on a break weighing it up.

“This is being considered by all parties as a realistic option.”

Walls, a former club captain, spends time in France each year and Garry Lyon isn’t sure how that would impact the decision.

“Could he still (go to France) if he was involved?” Lyon asked on SEN Breakfast.

“Those roles to me appear to be a thing of the past because part time and just wandering in every now and then walking away, those used to be very much in vogue because it was a part time industry.

“I’d be interested to know how that would work in 2018.”
