Conca will make decision on playing future in next week says manager

AFL player agent Colin Young has confirmed Richmond defender Reece Conca will decide on his playing future in the next few days.

Young said Conca has an offer on the table from Fremantle that he needs to weigh up.

“I had a quick dinner with him last night and I’ll catch up with him again on Friday morning just to see where he sits with the club,” Young told SEN’s Whateley.

“A few years ago I thought Reece was definitely going to Fremantle for a five year deal and he turned it down to stay with Richmond for two years because he had that belief.

“We’ll get something done by Friday to see where it sits, and they’ve got the best and fairest on Tuesday, so we should have an announcement just after that.

“It’ll be either staying at Richmond or going home to Fremantle.

“I spoke to (Fremantle CEO) Steve Rosich the morning of the Brownlow and he certainly said he had a good contract if Reece wanted to come home, he asked if I could contract Reece at a certain time to have a chat about it so the ball’s in motion.”

Conca has played 104 games for the Tigers and is currently a restricted free agent.
