Will the Swans make a late charge at Shiel?

2018-10-04T06:41+10:00

Sydney could make a late charge to acquire Dylan Shiel’s services, as the 25-year-old inches closer to making a call on his future.

St Kilda, Carlton and Hawthorn have been the three clubs most linked to Shiel, but staying in New South Wales could be an option for the Greater Western Sydney midfielder.

“Somebody said yesterday there may be a late pitch from somewhere else,” Tim Watson told SEN Breakfast.

“We have been talking about a team up north that’s been appearing to open up a lot of salary cap space.

“Somebody in the business said yesterday that Sydney has come late because this whole idea that he wants to come back to Melbourne, I don’t know that is the most important (element).”

It is well known Shiel’s long-time partner is very happy in Sydney, something her dad, premiership coach Mark Williams, revealed earlier this year.

Clubs are expecting to be informed of Shiel’s decision this weekend.
