Richmond duo Miles, Ellis join Gold Coast in exchange for future pick

2018-10-08T13:07+11:00

Former Richmond duo Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis have both been traded to Gold Coast after a deal was stuck between the two clubs.

The Suns will receive Ellis, Miles and the Tigers' 2019 third round pick in exchange for their future third round pick.

Miles played 60 games for the yellow and black but struggled for regular senior football, playing just one AFL game in 2018.

Richmond GM Neil Balme says the club understands their desire to seek more regular football at senior football.

“Anthony and Corey played well above VFL level this year and we understand their desire to seek new opportunities,” Balme told Richmond’s official website.

“Milesy is the ultimate professional and has given our football club wonderful service over the past five years.

“At just 21 years old, Corey is a talented footballer and has a bright future ahead of him.

"We wish them the best of luck at the Gold Coast and thank them for their time at Richmond."

Miles played 60 games for the yellow and black but struggled for regular senior football, playing just one AFL game in 2018.

The 26-year-old was the joint winner of the JJ Liston Medal after an outstanding season at VFL level.

Ellis, 21, played 27 games during his time at Punt Road.
