Will Kolodjashnij be the trade period sleeper?

2018-10-18T06:43+11:00

Tim Watson has nominated Kade Kolodjashnij as the potential sleeper of the trade period.

Kolodjashnij was traded to Melbourne yesterday in the Steven May deal, with the Demons rejuvenating their defensive stocks.

Kolodjashnij played just eight games this season due to concussion issues, but Watson says if he gets healthy, he could make a big influence in Simon Goodwin’s line-up.

“Sometimes it’s the little sleeper in the deal,” Watson told SEN Breakfast.

“Everyone is looking now at Steven May…I reckon in five years time, as long as Kolodjashnij is ok with the head stuff, which they say he is, we might look back and think, gee he was the better part of that trade.

“He can really play. He gives them a little bit of bounce.”

Melbourne footy boss Josh Mahoney said Kolodjashnij fills a “run and carry” need for the club.
