Libba one of AFL's best inside mids: Morris

Western Bulldogs veteran Dale Morris says he hopes midfielder Tom Liberatore can get back to his best in 2019, after a dramatic offseason.

It has been reported Liberatore was made to prove why he deserves a new contract with the Bulldogs, a deal which he is expected to receive in the near future.

Liberatore was also spotted in a holiday video with former teammate Luke Dahlhaus, which included swearing, something the club wasn’t thrilled about.

However, Morris is hopeful the 26-year-old can recapture his best form next year.

“I haven’t had the opportunity (to talk to him),” Morris told SEN Breakfast.

“He has been out and enjoying his holidays. He has come back, I think he is back now and training.

“Where his future is, I don’t know, I’m pretty sure it’s at the Dogs. I can only go from what I’ve heard in the media and stuff like that and it sounds like he will be with us again, which is great.

“He is such a talented player, unlucky with his knees, and Libba at his best is one of the best inside midfielders in the competition.

“I really hope he can get back to that and have a really good year next year.”
