The AFL has gone all-in on Good Friday football, scheduling a double-header on the religious public holiday in 2019.
North Melbourne will face Essendon at Marvel Stadium at 4:20pm, while reigning premiers West Coast will host Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium later that day at 8:10pm.
After an underwhelming Good Friday crowd of 33,966 this season against St Kilda, Kangaroos CEO Carl Dilena is hoping for a better turnout against the heavily supported Bombers.

“We’ve been passionate about this game for many years and firmly believe that today’s announcement will result in a capacity crowd,” Dilena told the Herald Sun.
“The Bombers are a fantastic result and like us, they just missed out on finals last year.
“We had a shoot out against them last time we played and it all points to another entertaining game on Good Friday.”
The full 2019 AFL fixture will be announced tomorrow.
