Get to Know: Bulldogs father-son prospect Rhylee West

2018-11-05T13:13+11:00

Western Bulldogs fans should be quite excited about father-son prospect Rhylee West, who the club has committed to drafting.

West is expected to go in the first round, with the Dogs having plenty of picks to match any bid made on the young-gun.

The midfielder said he’s spent some time at the Bulldogs in their father-son programs.

“They’ve had their programs where I’ve gone down for a few days and stuff,” West told Future Stars.

West was happy with his year at under 18s level, where he received All-Australian honours.

“I thought I had a pretty consistent year just finding the footy and bringing my teammates into the game, so it was a good consistent year,” he said.

His father Scott West played 324 games for the Bulldogs, winning seven club best and fairest awards and five All-Australians.

Rhylee said his father is a massive influence on his footy.

“He’s definitely my number one coach in footy, I’ve had a lot of different coaches, but he’s just got the main message for me all the time,” he said.
