Melbourne’s Jake Melksham believes the Demons using Nathan Jones and Jack Viney as co-captains is a model that works and hopes it continues in 2019.
After an article in the Herald Sun brought up the topic, Garry Lyon and Tim Watson discussed the merits of the Dees giving the sole captaincy to Viney next year.

However, Melksham says the two of them bounce off each other, and says it’s a framework that has been positive for the club.
“I think it’s working pretty well the way it is,” Melksham told SEN Breakfast.
“I think it’s also been good for Nathan having Jack in there as a younger guy, and it’s also been good for Jack, showing him the way.
“They can actually share the load, there’s a lot of media that goes on, there’s a lot of events they have to go to.
“I think it works pretty well.”
