Ahead of this summer’s highly-anticipated Test series between Australia and India, we’re counting down the top 10 moments from past encounters between these two fierce cricketing rivals.
Coming in at Number 9 is Harbhajan Singh’s hat-trick in the memorable Eden Gardens Test in 2001.
Harbhajan rocked Australia with an amazing spell of spin bowling on day one of the famous Kolkata Test.
The feisty off-spinner dismissed Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne in successive deliveries to become the first Indian to take a Test hat-trick.
Singh trapped Ponting and Gilchrist lbw, with replays suggesting the latter had inside edged the ball onto his pad before being given out.
Warne was the third and final victim when he was caught at short leg as the spin ace ended the innings with figures of 7/123 and a staggering haul of 13 for the match.
India would go on to win the Test in extraordinary circumstances after following on in their second innings.
