“He’s not on my level”: Mundine throws down gauntlet to Horn

2018-11-26T16:58+11:00

Anthony Mundine has declared he will comfortably defeat former world welterweight champion Jeff Horn when the two lock horns at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Friday night.

Mundine has predicted the fight will end somewhere in between rounds seven and 11 in what will be the biggest boxing bout on Australian shores in 2018.

“I’ll be the one that’ll cut him up,” Mundine told SEN’s KB and The Doc.

“He’s going to be cut, he’s going to be bleeding and the fight will stop from rounds seven to 11, in-between there.”

Age won’t be an obstacle in the highly-anticipated fight according to 43-year-old Mundine, saying he is a far superior fighter and is confident he can more than keep up with Horn, who is 13 years his junior.

“His awkwardness, his unconventional style, his grittiness, his toughness and his ruggedness, he’s got a lot of factors that work for him,” Mundine added.

“But as far as the sweet science of the sport, as far as skill-wise, there’s levels to this and he’s not on my level.

“I’ll finish stronger than what he’ll finish, I’m too seasoned and I’m too experienced.”

It could well be Mundine’s final career fight as he looks to register his 49th career win.
