Goddard officially announces AFL retirement

2018-12-07T05:14+11:00

Former St Kilda and Essendon star Brendon Goddard has officially announced his retirement from the AFL overnight.

Goddard was delisted by the Bombers at the end of the 2018 season, but said at the time he was willing to go on if given another chance.

He went unselected across delisted free agency and the National Draft and has decided to call it a day.

“I feel very privileged and honoured to have played at two great football clubs,” Goddard said on Instagram.

“I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life.”

Goddard played 334 games across his time with St Kilda and Essendon.
