Former Brisbane defender Daniel Merrett says Port Adelaide assistant coach Michael Voss is ready for another opportunity as a senior coach.
Voss was sacked by the Lions in 2013 after 109 games in charge of his former club, before taking up a position as a midfield coach at the Power in 2014.
The Brownlow Medallist has previously stated he still harbours an ambition to be a senior coach once again.

“Vossy took a big hit when he lost his job in Brisbane, but he’s worked his way back into that assistant coaching role at Port Adelaide,” Merrett told SEN Breakfast.
“He’s been there for a while now so I think another few years of experience would have helped him a heap.
“Vossy’s got so much knowledge and probably at the time when he coached, he gave the players too much knowledge because we aren’t rocket scientists.
“He’s got a wealth of knowledge and I’ve got no doubt he’d be a great coach again.”
The three-time premiership captain signed a contract extension to remain as an assistant at the Power for the 2019 season.
