Franklin, Chamberlain among list of AFL Life Member recipients

Sydney superstar Lance Franklin will earn Life Membership at the AFL's Annual General Meeting in March.

Franklin is one of four players who will be inducted as Life Members along with Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury, Fremantle midfielder David Mundy and GWS defender Heath Shaw.

Umpire Ray Chamberlain was also inducted with all five automatically qualifying for the honour after notching a collective total of 300 AFL games last season.

North Melbourne Team of the Century member and former Roos CEO John Dugdale, Richmond Team of the Century member and long-time Essendon recruiting manager Merv Keane, and SANFL Hall of Fame inductee and life member Wally Miller were also recognised for their 'Special Service to the Game'.

Former Western Bulldogs timekeeper Bill Hector was awarded the Jack Titus Service Award for outstanding service to football.
