“Chase that feeling again”: Tigers eyeing return to the top

2019-01-18T10:54+11:00

Richmond veteran Shaun Grigg says the playing group are eager to experience the elation of winning a premiership once again after falling short in 2018.

The Tigers won 18 games during the home-and-away season and breezed past Hawthorn in their Qualifying Final encounter before falling at the Preliminary Final hurdle to Collingwood.

Grigg says the upset loss to the Magpies is spurring the Tigers on during their pre-season campaign.

“You really want to chase that feeling again,” Grigg told SEN Breakfast.

“Once you’ve tasted it, it’s something that you can’t explain to people what it’s like, so once you’ve had it you just want to chase that feeling again.

“We’re doing everything we can this pre-season and going into the year to give ourselves a chance to chase it again.

“Unfortunately, on Prelim Final night the Pies came out and deserved to win – they played a lot better than us.

“We learned from 2017 that if you catch fire, things come together late in the year and you get some momentum, you can cause some damage in the finals.”

Richmond play Carlton in the traditional season opener at the MCG on March 21.
