Essendon midfielder Zach Merrett has sustained a leg injury at training today.
Early reports indicated that Merrett had suffered a serous knee injury.

But it is understood that the 23-year-old has simply hurt his ankle, avoiding anything more sinister, and will be sidelined for up to two weeks, per AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.

Dons fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the injury, at this early stage, is unlikely to negatively affect the start of Merrett's 2019 season.
