Daw excited to get back into footy says Higgins

2019-01-21T08:00+11:00

North Melbourne star Shaun Higgins says Majak Daw is feeling good and looking forward to getting back into football.

Daw has been recovering since an incident on the Bolte Bridge in December. He released a letter last week, telling fans he is making “huge strides” in his physical and mental state.

Higgins echoed those statements, saying the Kangaroos will continue to support him.

“Maj, like he said last week, is really excited to get back into it,” Higgins told SEN Breakfast.

“He is feeling really good, both physically and mentally, and he will start his road back to playing whenever that is.

“As long as Maj says he is feeling really good, which he did, it was great to hear from him and read the words he put out to our fans and the whole footy community because there was so much support.

“We will continue to put our arms around him, give him everything he needs, the support that he needs, and it will be great to see Maj back soon.”

Higgins added it was a tough time for the club, but acknowledged the amount of support given to the Daw family.

“It was difficult times for everyone but there was a lot of people that were involved then,” Higgins said.

“First and foremost it’s to Maj, but then to his family as well.

“The football club did a fantastic job, along with the footy world, to show their support to Majak and the whole Daw family.”
