Hibberd expecting Demons to play with same ruthlessness in 2019

2019-01-31T08:18+11:00

Melbourne’s Michael Hibberd doesn’t anticipate the Demons to make many changes to their game plan this season.

Contested footy and strong interior midfield work were the foundations of the Dees’ 2018 success, a blueprint Hibberd hopes the club can replicate.

Melbourne ranked first in contested possessions and third in clearances last year, falling just one game short of a Grand Final berth.

“I think this year we will see the same brand,” Hibberd told SEN Breakfast.

“We will be a contested team and try to be ruthless around the contest.

“We want to be a hard team to beat. I don’t think anything will change too much.”

The Demons open their 2019 season on March 23 against Port Adelaide.
