Nick Dal Santo doesn’t believe the encouraged dress code attempted to replicate the NFL and the NBA in the AFLX competition is the way Australians act.
Players have been urged by the AFL to wear outlandish outfits upon arrival to increase the excitement levels on the night of the tournament.
Superstars from the NBA and NFL have gained worldwide acclaim for their eccentric choice of attire when entering a stadium prior to a game.
“I’ve got a couple of initial thoughts on it (AFLX dress code),” Dal Santo told SEN Afternoons.
“It fits AFLX because I feel like that’s the vibe of it and the theme, they’re so relaxed and it’s friendly.
“That’s not us, that’s not us as Australians and the way that we act.”
The revamped AFLX tournament will be held at Marvel Stadium on Friday, February 22nd.
Team Deadly, Team Bolts, Team Flyers and Team Rampage will compete in a round-robin format featuring some of the competition's biggest names.
