"I don’t really have fond memories of that day": Treloar

2019-02-20T08:50+11:00

Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar admits he hasn’t rewatched the 2018 Grand Final.

The Pies lost to the Eagles by five points in a seesawing contest.

Although he’s seen highlights of the game, Treloar says he won’t be watching the game in full anytime soon.

“It was way too painful for me,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“I don’t reckon I’ll really watch it unless I win a premiership, I might go back and watch it or when I retire, I don’t really have fond memories of that day.

“I appreciate the day and it was an awesome thing to be apart of and something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

“But not winning, the year that we had, we had a lot of adversity throughout the year.

“To get so close, be up for 90 per cent of the game and ultimately lose, it’s just too hard for me to watch.

“I’ve seen some good highlights from it, I know Bucks (Nathan Buckley), he made us as individuals go and watch our really good highlights from the game with our line coaches so I’ve seen stuff like that but not watching the game in its entirety.

“I won’t be doing that anytime soon.”

Treloar comes into 2019 with a new mindset, hoping to play wherever the team needs him to turn their fortunes around.

The Pies kick off their campaign against Geelong at the MCG on March 22.
