Steve Bradbury reveals Hollywood movie being made about gold medal win

2019-02-19T18:05+11:00

Australian Olympic gold medallist Steven Bradbury has revealed he has a movie coming and the script is set to be written by a major Hollywood writer.

Bradbury, best known for his astonishing Olympic Gold Medal triumph at the 2002 winter games in short track speed skating, said he’s hoping the movie will be ready before the next Winter Olympics.

“I’ve got a movie coming soon,” Bradbury revealed on SEN’s KB & the Doc.

“Well, not soon, we’re hoping to get ‘Last Man Standing’ – which isn’t the official title yet – but we’re hoping to get it into cinemas probably in December 2021 before the next Winter Olympics.

“We’ve got a script writer who’s coming out to Brisbane next week and he did Pirates of the Caribbean and Collateral and some other big Hollywood productions.

“Hopefully everything goes according to plan for that project.”

Bradbury didn’t reveal any casting information, but mentioned big names are being targeted for certain roles.

“That’s yet to be determined, but they want someone in their early 20s so they think it’s going to be a bit of an unknown,” he said.

“I don’t know if I can mention any names, but they’re talking some big names for my mum and dad if they can get them.”
