Australian Football Hall of Famer Terry Wallace has run his eye over all 18 teams’ performances in the JLT Series and come up with a snapshot to break down where they’re at.
Wallace spoke to SEN Afternoons on Tuesday to go through the teams.
Here’s what he said about Collingwood, Essendon and Fremantle.
Collingwood
JLT Performance: 2-0, 119.75%
“A healthier and deeper list should have Pies fans excited again.”
“Dayne Beams, Jordan Roughead, Jamie Elliott, Darcy Moore – I thought he was very good.”
Essendon
JLT Performance: 0-2, 81.59%
“Unfortunately, they always seem less organised in the pre-season than the others in the competition.”
“If it’s a scratch race, they’re starting five metres back every time and with their natural talent, they should be performing better.”
“Even with the squad that they’ve had on the ground and who they’ve played against, they should be performing better than what they are.”
“I’m very interested to see them in the first month again.”
Fremantle
JLT Performance: 0-2, 64.55%
“Their key recruits don’t appear to have made enough difference.”
“Of course, Nathan Fyfe is still to come back.”
“(Freo) aren’t on the pace yet.”
