Plough's AFL snapshot: Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne

2019-03-15T07:06+11:00

Australian football Hall of Famer Terry Wallace has run his eye over all 18 teams’ performances in the JLT Series and come up with a snapshot to break down where they’re at.

Wallace spoke to SEN Afternoons on Tuesday to go through the teams.

Here’s what he said about Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne.

Hawthorn

JLT Performance: 0-2, 74.62%

“They only had one real hit out and showed they’re still very, very dangerous.”

Melbourne

JLT Performance: 0-2, 91.24%

“They had a really disappointing pre-season, but they’re talented enough to readjust.”

“With them, it’s about getting things controlled. They played Richmond in the first game and were undermanned in that game and were really honourable.”

“They were pretty ordinary and pretty disappointing on the weekend against the Lions.”

“I just think there’s enough talent there that I think they’ll readjust.”

North Melbourne

JLT Performance: 0.2, 79.56%

“More depth through the middle of the ground than what they’ve had in past years, but the tall defenders missing is a worry.”

“How they navigate the first month will determine where they go in the season.”

“I’m not sure that the secondary defenders they’ve got there can hold up.”

“That’s unfortunate, but if they can, they’ve got so much more through the middle of the ground, their rotations, their young players coming up and playing some really good footy through the middle, they’ve brought in some players through the middle of the ground, they’ve got so much depth now.”
