Former Brownlow medalist Adam Cooney believes the Lions are ahead of the Blues in their development.
The Lions secured an upset win over the Eagles on Saturday while the Blues went down to the Tigers on Thursday night.
Cooney believes Brisbane’s positive start is only a sign of things to come for the developing side.

“They (Eagles) scored a goal in a half of footy, the reigning premiers, up at the Gabba,” he told AFL Nation.
“It looked like how much in the first 10 to 15 minutes but the kids, the kids went mad at the Gabba!
“Rayner’s going to be a really special player.
“They’re a different looking forward six with Charlie Cameron down there, Hipwood starting to develop now into a really fine player.
“They’ve got good balance between them and good belief.
“They’ve gone passed Carlton.”
In Round 2, the Lions face the Kangaroos while the Blues take on the Power.
