Nick Dal Santo has hailed GWS star Stephen Coniglio, believing he should command the highest wage of any free agent if he does decide to explore his options.
The midfielder was magnificent in their 72-point mauling of Essendon yesterday, collecting 31 disposals and booting three goals in a best-on-ground display.
Out of contract at the end of the year, Coniglio has attracted interest from Victorian and Western Australian clubs with the Giants desperate to tie him and fellow vice-captain Josh Kelly down to new long-term deals.
“He is the best two-way midfielder in the competition,” Dal Santo told SEN Afternoons.
“If he is to leave the Giants, and I’m not saying that he will, he deserves the most money of any free agent moving clubs.

“If the records are correct on Dylan Shiel last year (potentially) going to the Saints for $1.3 or $1.4 million, he needs a couple of extra dollars.
“He is that good and that consistent and you know exactly what you’re going to get every time he walks out.”
Coniglio, 25, was recruited from Swan Districts in Perth and has played 119 games for the Giants since debuting in 2012.
