Richmond has released a statement via Twitter, banning the club member who racially vilified West Coast’s Liam Ryan.
The person’s membership has been suspended for two years with the club revoking all of their rights.
The Tigers said the following: “Racial vilification has no place in our game, and no place in our society, and the club will continue to take strong measures to ensure there is zero tolerance to this behaviour.”
West Coast also released a video with club indigenous liaison officer Phil Narkle and assistant coach Chance Bateman commenting on the Ryan situation.
We're taking a stand against racism.
