2019-04-16T07:05+10:00

Jockey Nick Souquet has been handed a nine-week suspension for betting on horse races during 2018.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to placing 10 bets totalling $125, with none of the bets placed being on races he rode in.

Souquet will be free to resume riding on June 18.

Souquet is the fourth Victorian rider – following Daniel Schmitt, John Roberston and Chris Caserta - to be suspended for betting within the past two months.
