Given the impact he has made on the competition in just four games, you get the feeling a Rising Star nomination will be just one of many personal accolades that will come Sam Walsh's way throughout his AFL career.
Following four excellent matches for the Blues, Walsh was named the Round 4 NAB AFL Rising Star nominee.
The 18-year-old is proud to be recognised for his individual performances, but admits he would swap his nomination for team success in a heartbeat.
"It's great recognition; it's something you don't think about too much, but it's good to achieve that," Walsh told SEN.com.au.
"Yeah, absolutely (I would swap it for a win).
"We've been in games in each of the first four rounds; it's just moments in games and a bit of composure that's letting us down.
"There's still a lot of positivity around the group, and we're doing a lot right, so hopefully a win is just around the corner."

Taken by Carlton with pick one in last year's NAB AFL Draft, Walsh has been one of the shining lights for the young Blues.
He is averaging 26.25 possessions per game, as well three tackles and 5.25 clearances, making him just the second player, behind former Cat Mark Bairstow, to record 24 or more disposals in each of his first four games.
"It's interesting; you do the full pre-season and it's in the back of your mind what the AFL season is going to be like. You get a bit of a taste during the JLT Series," Walsh said.
"After playing the first round, you find out how quick it is and the pressure there is. You've got to be smart with your decisions.
"I've been learning a lot from reviewing games and putting into practice what I've got to work on week-to-week."
As his junior coaches and talent scouts would testify, Walsh has an appetite for hard work and a desire to learn.
"The first two weeks I was fading in and out of the game a bit," Walsh explained.
"The pressure was high so I didn't have as much time with the ball, so I had to keep on working on buying time with the ball. This is my first time playing against men… you learn things about ball security and really driving through the tackle.
"In my last two games, I've been getting a bit better at that."
