Terry Wallace has heaped praise on Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto following their impressive performances in GWS’ thrilling four-point win over Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.

Hopper, 22, collected a season-high 31 disposals and six tackles, while 21-year-old Taranto was also superb with 28 touches and nine tackles.

The AFL Hall of Famer believes the midfield duo have taken “enormous steps” in the opening month of the season, adding greatly to the Giant’s midfield stocks.

“Their midfield is star-studded, we know that’s the case,” Wallace told SEN’s KB and The Doc.

“But the two younger midfielders have taken enormous steps: (Jacob) Hopper and (Tim) Taranto.

“They’ve been promising, but now they’ve arrived… so they’ve added more depth to the middle of the ground.”

Hopper and Taranto are averaging 27.3 and 26.8 disposals respectively as Leon Cameron’s side sit in second spot on the AFL ladder with a win-loss record of 3-1.
