Hawthorn midfielder Jaeger O’Meara said re-signing with the club was a no-brainer.
The 25-year-old has signed a four-year deal to stick around with the Hawks until at least 2023 and says he would’ve signed for 10 years if they allowed him to.
“It was a pretty easy decision,” he told SEN Breakfast.
“One that both the club, my management and I were happy with so I would’ve been happy to sign a 10-year deal if it was on offer for me, but we agreed on four so I’m stoked with that.”
O’Meara missed last week’s loss to St Kilda with a hip injury, but says he should be right to go for Easter Monday’s clash with Geelong.
“The body’s feeling good other than the hip cork I copped against North Melbourne,” he said.
“I obviously wasn’t able to get up for the game on the weekend against St Kilda, but I’ll ramp up and train on Friday and should be right to go for Monday.
“I’m a genuine chance. I should be right. I’ve just got to get through training on Friday.”
