The Race Club's Midweek Oil

2019-04-17T09:13+10:00

Racing in South Australia heads to Murray Bridge this afternoon, with seven races set down for decision.

Having done the form for the meeting, theraceclub.com.au's South Australian analyst Adam Curkpatrick believes LADY BETHANY (No.9) - which will make her local debut for Michael Hickmott in Race 6 - has bright prospects.

"I reckon there are two main chances in Borris In Ossory and Lady Bethany," Curkpatrick said.

"The latter failed at the mile across the Tasman in trying conditions last time out. She's five weeks between runs and back to 1400m. She is still a maiden, but has put in some dashing runs in competitive races in New Zealand and no doubt can measure up to these.

"I expect she is closer today from the kind draw, blinkers go on and if we can forgive the last start fail, she looks very well set up to take this out.

"Borris In Ossory has trialled up very well for this on two occasions, running good time in both. It's the best I’ve seen him return.

"I'll be backing Lady Bethany for a good result, and having a small saver on Borris In Ossory."

Lady Bethany will jump from gate three under Sairyn Fawke, with the race to jump at 4:10pm AEST.
