Hawthorn legend Dermott Brereton will take up a part-time role at St Kilda.
Since his playing days, Brereton was formerly a director at the Hawks and has done some part-time coaching with his old club as well as Collingwood, GWS and even some one-on-one work with Brisbane great Jonathan Brown.
Speaking on SEN Breakfast, Brereton played down his role, but hopes it will be effective.
“Gubby Allan is the contact who asked me would I be interested in taking a few of the key forwards and just showing them forward craft," he said on SEN Breakfast.
“I get a little bit of a laugh hearing that I’m going into coaching.
“All it is is a bit of one-on-one tuition, or one-on-three tuition, and just showing them some game craft of being a forward.”
Five-time premiership Hawk Brereton will work closely with the likes of Josh Bruce, Tim Membrey, Rowan Marshall, Paddy McCartin, Matt Parker and Max King.
