Dixon aiming for Port Adelaide return in second half of season

2019-04-18T10:45+10:00

Port Adelaide star Robbie Gray says Charlie Dixon is aiming to return to the Power line-up in the second half of the season.

Dixon hasn’t played since Round 21 last year due to an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old took his first step towards recovery yesterday, and Gray is positive that he can make an impact for the side later in the year.

“It’s good to see him back running in some capacity, even though it’s on the AlterG,” Gray told SEN SA Breakfast.

“It’s a good stepping stone for him, and speaking to him over the last few days, he’s feeling pretty positive about it now.

“Hopefully he can have a smooth run at it and build up.

“It’s a long season so I think we’ll see him back at some stage in the second half of the season, that’s what he’s aiming for.

“Hopefully he can keep progressing in a positive way.”

Port Adelaide flies out to Perth this afternoon to face the Eagles at Optus Stadium on Good Friday.
