The first AFLW sign and trade period came to an end yesterday afternoon, with 37 players moving to expansion teams.
A number of existing clubs have been hit hard, particularly Brisbane and the Bulldogs.
Player movement was necessary however for to make the AFL’s desire for a 14-team competition possible and it’s not quite the end yet with a second sign and trade window coming between April 23rd and April 26th.
This will come after the finalising of the AFLW National Draft order, which takes place on the 23rd as well.
Existing teams are still announcing their re-signings with GWS announcing 21 yesterday, including the likes of Amanda Farrugia, Alicia Eva, Cora Staunton and Rebecca Beeson.
North Melbourne got the prized signature of Jess Duffin, as well as Ash Riddell, Jessica Trend and a few others.
Carlton is the only team yet to publicly make any re-signings, but they are expected to make a big announcement today.
